Nice to look at, but nothing to hear Aug 09, 2006

I cannot rate this Emperor Gong any higher than 3 stars. I enjoy looking at it, but it just isn't anything to hear. If there is a slight wind, the whole thing twirls around; if there is a stronger wind, it gets tangled. All with nary a sound of the gong.
I was very disappointed.

Very nice looking and the unique design captures a lot of compliments. The sound is soft and muffled, at times difficult to hear, unless your close to the gong. It's neighbor friendly, but is not for someone who is looking for melody on the breeze. One problem is the entire piece twists in the wind and this interferes with the sound.

I have both the large and small emperor gongs. The large one chimes more often (probably 5x more than the small one) but they work well together. I think I will pick up a second small gong. Great for standing meditation or lying (hammock) meditation on the deck!

It is a good item. It is beautiful anywhere and every person who sees it thing it must be expensive .. The sound is loud enought to be not disturbing

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS-- THE WHOLE THING MOVES AND NO GONG SOUND- DESIGNED BADLY-- LOOKS GOOD BUT IT DOESNT WORK STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!!!!!!!!! AND yo woodstock chimes- FIRE THE GUY WHO DESIGNED IT----no gong sound ever !! i tried readjusting it every which way----i hate you wodstock phony chimes !
