Beautiful Chimes, Deep Tones Aug 10, 2006
By Booksnoop We are moving into a new house and I really wanted some wind chimes for our woodsy backyard. It was tough deciding which Woodstock chimes to chose, but I went with the Chimes of Neptune because of their great low tones and reasonable price. They arrived today and are absolutely beautiful, well made and have a great sound. They are really big (and are shipped by Amazon in an enormous box), which makes them pretty loud, so if you have close neighbors who don't like chimes, you might want to go with a smaller chime. Otherwise, if you like chimes, but don't like the small, high pitched tinkly ones, the Chimes of Neptune will be perfect for you.

Wonderful windchime! Feb 11, 2008
By C. Edwards Our family LOVES this windchime from Woodstock. If you access their website, you can listen to all their different chimes. We really liked the low tones that this windchime plays. It's a great value too! It's a very large windchime with excellent tone. It even came with the sheet music for its chime! We loved it.

Best quality, rich soothing tones, gorgeous! Mar 27, 2009

Woodstock Percussion makes the best windchimes! They are all tuned to musical scales. I prefer the deeper tones rather than the higher tones, and the Chimes of Neptune has such a deep resonant beauty in both sound and design. The wood has a hint of red to it which looks very rich with the bronze tubes. We hung ours on our covered front porch where it normally receives very light breezes, and we find it very soothing. As a large chime, it will become LOUD if the wind blows hard. If you want a bit smaller chime with a deep rich sound, I also recommend the Chimes of Olympus. It has a hauntingly beautiful tone. I've had Woodstock chimes outside in the weather for 15+ years and they still look and sound fantastic. These make lovely gifts!

breathtaking, low chimes Aug 20, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3UTE15A87ESP0 These chimes are GORGEOUS. Not only are they beautiful to look at (VERY large, beautiful copper/crimson color), their sound is just *perfect*. When I received them, I briefly flirted with the idea of finding a place for them in the house before I regained my sanity and put them outside. I just love them so much.
We have these Neptune Chimes on our lanai, as well as a set of Westminster Chimes (also by Woodstock), and the two are a lovely pair. The Neptune chimes are low and a little soft, but quite bright in sound. They are perfect for someone who wants a clear, low chime sound but doesn't want anything *too* soft. They also chime liberally- not enough to make your neighbors hate you, but enough that the smallest of breezes will move them so soft chimes become the background music to your day. To me, they bring much serenity and peace. Just so beautiful.
I've uploaded a short video of my chimes ringing, so you can get a sense of the sound. I apologize for video quality- I used my iPhone for capture. You can also visit Woodstock's website at woodstock DOT com to hear clear samples of all their chimes, so you can choose the best chime for you and your home.
Enjoy!

Big, beautiful Feb 22, 2006

I bought this chime because it is tuned to complement the other, smaller chimes from Woodstock Percussion that I already had. I now have 4 chimes on one live oak tree, and the sound is very nice... it all works together!
