 Absolute Top of the Line Chimes - Unbelievable Beautiful Sounds Nov 24, 2010

These chimes without a doubt make the most beautiful sounds of any wind chimes ever made! One caution though on this particular model. It's big, so the chimes are fairly loud. And I made two mistakes with them. One I put them just outside my bedroom door, only to discover that I live in an area where the wind almost never stops blowing! Who knew!? I never noticed before. I was always under the impression that we get light breezes during the day and that the wind almost dies down entirely at night. Well, I discovered that the wind blows all night a lot more often than I thought!
I also live in a very densely populated urban area (NYC), and depending on your neighbors (mine are really chill) I could easily see someone complaining to you about them.
It's a real shame because the purity of sound these chimes make is just beautiful. If you live in a suburban area and can put them outside somewhere away from your bedroom, you should be fine. You'll absolutely love them. But I think I'm going to give these to a suburban friend and get one of the smaller versions they have that should be a little less loud.
One annoying thing though that prevented me from giving these a 5-star rating is they don't come with everything you need to hang them. They come with a little closed diamond shaped plastic cut out at the top, but you have to figure out how to hang them on your own. I had to find some string that I could insert through the closed diamond shaped hook and then attach an open-ended hook to the string. I was then able to attach the open-ended hook to a little plastic strip that was already there. So hanging these can be a bit problematic.
P.S. To the Manufacturer... I first saw these at your booth at the NY Gift show. I was there as a fellow exhibitor. One of your people said something to another employee that I shouldnt be there because I was an exhibitor. So just wanted to let you know not all exhibitors are competitors who are trying to steal your ideas! Don't be so paranoid! Plus how could they steal the process by which you make these beautiful chimes simply by stopping by your booth?!

I love my Woodstock Healing Chime! The sound is great. Before purchasing it, I listened to many other chimes, both online and locally, and finally narrowed it down to two different chimes. I decided on this one because I have many houses close to mine and wanted a chime that would not be excessively loud and would have a nice sound (in consideration of my neighbors). The Healing Chime fits very well--the other one may have been too loud, I'm afraid.
It works best in about 10 MPH winds. I have mine hung right on my patio. In a very strong wind, I can hear the chime a little bit when I'm inside the house and the doors and windows are closed. When sitting outside, it's very relaxing and pleasant to hear the chime.
No neighbors have complained so I'm assuming they aren't bothered by my chime and are probably enjoying it too!

The "Healing Chimes" by Woodstock, have a remarkable effect when the wind blows. The gentle, amazing variety of complementary chime sounds, always surprises me when I hear them, and I can't help but pause . . . absorbing the healing of wind-generated "music." Even the look is unique, elegant, rich and "balanced."

This healing chime is, by far, one of my best purchases ever!!! The gentle melodic sounds remind to stop and appreciate the forestry behind my balcony. When heard during the day, I am reminded to appreciate every aspect of their melodious tones. Not only is the sound delightful, but the craftsmanship is outstanding. This healing chime has weathered sun, rain, heat and wind and still looks as if it were just removed from its box. The sound is lovely, the quality is outstanding, and the price was worthwhile. I would not hesitate to recommend this seller or this item to anyone who wishes to be reminded to take a moment and enjoy life and his/her environs. Quality abounds in all aspects of this transaction.

I love my new chime! A collector of chimes, sounds and design are something I get more picky about. This covered both criteria in everyway expected. A wonderful addition to my spring.
