garden bells Jul 28, 2008 I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. I is exactly what she wanted for a long time and we could not find one in the stores. She loves it.

??? need help with this one... Jan 18, 2008 Mine don't make any noise either. The posts are really stiff and there isn't any room between the bells to allow them to move and strike each other. Guess I'll try pulling them apart a little too, like the another reviewer did...maybe if I gently bend them apart they'll work like I expected???????

nice on a breezy day May 06, 2007 I have another woodstock hanging chime on my front porch, this one is on the back deck. I slowly pulled the bells apart to give them room to strike together when the breeze blows. It's got a nice sound, I reccomend this product.

Just Lovely. Aug 08, 2006 I have a set of these I bought here in England at a Garden Centre. I think it may a bit misleading of the Amazon to describe them as, "windchimes", I bought my set as "rainbells".
They are designed to be placed in amongst your regular planting in the garden, so as to give the illusion of them being an unusual set of blooms in themselves.
They collect rain drops and obviously fill to different levels, so you always get a differing array of gentle sounds which actually compliment a downpour beautifully. They very bendy and fleixible stems allow the bells to bend over and empty if they get too full of water. The rock base keeps the whole structure weighted down and stable. The wind does little to effect them, they are usually too low down be stirred by strong gusts, but the rain makes them sing a lovely little song of celebration.
A couple of bonus elements are that I have seen wild birds drinking from the bells once or twice and the bells also scare my neighbours cat away, he used to poop in my garden a lot before I got these! My garden is now a cat poop free zone, thank goodness!!

Pretty, but will they ever chime? Jul 27, 2006 I like the way these chimes look, including the rock base, but I have yet to hear them ring. We've had some big storms the past few weeks, and neither wind nor rain (nor dark of night?) has made them chime. On their looks, they get 4 stars, but on their sound they get a 1.
